Do you think this is safe? (perishable food related)
DH's parents sent us some stuff- a box of bratwurst and a box of steaks. The boxes arrived on Thursday. DH works late on Thursday and I had parent conferences, so I was the first one home at 8:45. The food was packed in styrofoam with dry ice but it was gone by the time I opened the boxes. Everything was cold but not frozen.
MIL said that if we call the company will resend the stuff. I just hate the idea of throwing out food- do you think it's still safe to eat?

I would call the company and ask. They would probably know how long their food stays after the dry ice goes away.

I agree. I definitely wouldn't eat it until I heard it was "ok" from them.
Yum! Bratwurst!! I haven't had a good one since I lived in WI.

Actually, the food's from Usinger's in Milwaukee. My DH grew up there.
Good idea about calling to ask how long the food's good. Thanks ladies!

I'm sure if it's cold it's still ok... you can't REfreeze it now though.
