Do you think you're a good gift-giver?

I don't think I get the best gifts. I try really hard, but people are hard to shop for so I tend to get them things I know they already like (hobbies, etc)...But I never feel like I nail it with the gifts. FH is better at gift giving than me Chat Icon

Except last year when FSIL was my Secret Santa person and flat out told me she wanted a Coach bag...which I bought, exactly the one she wanted...and she had the nerve to ask if it was real or not!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Yeah, in a Coach shopping bag, box, tissue paper, tag AND GIFT RECEIPT!!!

I like to think so.

I really try to do what you said - go based on their hobbies, interests, styles...

I just try my best! I feel very strongly that its's the thought that counts, and I try to put a lot of thought into each gift and I think that comes across.

Re: Do you think you're a good gift-giver?

I do think I'm a good gift-giver. I LOVE seeing people's reactions when they open my gifts. I really try to get something that I think the person will love. Now with Christmas it is hard to do it for everyone, but usually in a season I'll get something that a few people absolutely adore. At the very least, people always like my gifts. And it's even better when they love them.

Last year I quilted pillows for everyone, and my dad's reaction over the phone almost made me cry, it was so sweet.

I put a TON of thought and heart and time into picking the perfect gift. BUT... sometimes it just doesn't work out.

I try to be a good gift giver - sometimes I succeed... other times it's Gift Card City!

i think i am for the most part---when i put a serious effort into it. lol

sometimes i admit to being lazy and just get a gift card for someone's bday or something, but especially for christmas i make sure to get good gifts for everyone. like right now i'm scanning the black friday ads online and seeing what i'm getting for everyone

Re: Do you think you're a good gift-giver?

I try to be. I pay close attention to my family when they talk about things. My MIL divulged about 4 months ago that she would like to start collecting My Little Kitchen Fairies. I know my SIL likes Frederic Fekkai hair products b/c I noticed it in my DHs shower before we were engaged... So I try to notice little things - and surprise them. 'Oh I didn't know I told you I liked this!'.

I love, love, love to give gifts to people.

i like to think so, although it doesnt always work out.

Dh's grandmother had tupperware that needed replacing, and difficulting finding lids. so one gift i got was the tuppeware with the turnable bottom to stack it. Well, then i hear there isnt enough room in the cabinet for it. and i meantion they can be used within the turnable, they are still good because its a universal lid..... 2+ years later still sitting in the box

Re: Do you think you're a good gift-giver?

Honestly, no. I'm not very creative. I just usually give gift cards to stores the person likes. Then again, that's usually what I'd prefer to receive, so that's probably why I do it.

I like to think that I am. If I see something that I know that somebody likes then I will buy it and put it away for Christmas.

Re: Do you think you're a good gift-giver?

I definitely am for my family.

But sometimes for DH's family I just end up getting a little Christmas knickknack bc DH knows nothing about his aunts LOL

But last year I lucked out. I got one Aunt an angel candle holder and the other aunt a snowman candy bowl and it turns out that I had picked who collected angels and who collected snowmen - but that was a fluke LOL

I am great with the kids gifts though! Especially the older ones because I am willing to spend any amount on them
