unfortunately, every month i am absolutely POSITIVE that i am pg - only to get af like clockwork every month.
each time i get af i swear to myself that i won't get my hopes up for the following month - but i always do.
i am very tired of this whole process.

I tried every month but I was let down....I kept bust soI didnt have time to be so disappointed but it was never easy.

I get optimistic during my IUI's and the 2 ww. Then the day I get that phone call I prepare myself for a BFN

I used to be really optimistic, and so sure every month that I was PG, even though I didn't feel any symptoms whatsoever. But after getting BFN and BFN, I started to lose hope.
I don't know what to feel now, after getting the embryo transfer. I want to be optimistic, but if I'm not PG this time, after going through what I've gone through, it's gonna be bad

Annie, I know how you feel. I feel so optimistic now and and say if I dont get PG, I dont know what I will do. i will keep trying, but the torture you go through with IVF it is NOT as esay as people think it is.

I just want to take this time to express my admiration for all the women who have gone through IVF. LisaW, this definitely includes you. If anything is an indication of what outstanding mothers you will make this has got to be it !!!! I sure pray your ttc days are over !

I think that knowing what Lisa has gone through is the only thing that keeps me so positive. This is only my first IVF cycle, and although it's a lot to have to go through, I couldn't imagine having to go through it multiple times like Lisa has. Talk about a strong will!

I Teeter back and forth, most months Im 100% convinced Im PG and AF shows up and I get VERY upset. I now after some advice on here..allow myself to wallow in it for a day or two, then I get ready to prepare to O again and then I keep busying and think positive duuring the 2WW...putting my mind to making sure I follow this and dont give in to depression has helped a LOT, I think Im more optimistic...

I have to add two things here
1 - I agree with you about Lisa. Her drive and attitude are truly amazing. We have already decided not to do IVF, partially because I don't think I could handle any more emotionally. I truly pray that Lisa gets her little bean, because she will be a wonderful, wonderful mom.
2 - I used to get very optimistic in the 2WW, only to be let down. I am now more realistic (I will not say pessimistic) and think whatever will be will be...but I have to admit, there is that little part of me that is praying this is the month, You guys are the only ones that know that part though!

As a defense mechanicism I expect the worst and hope for the best.
It's been too detrimental to my emotional health these past months always wondering/hoping so now I go through the process but I don't let myself think about it. I don't even POAS unless I'm late with AF.
Gertie - I hope your prayers are answered, as I hope all of our prayers are answered one day and hopefully very soon.
