I do- I am a third grade CTT teacher and I think it really helps the kids who need to refine their study skills.

Re: Do you use study guide sheets in your classroom....Why or why not?
I do.... I teach freshmen global and it focuses their attention to what they have to study. I'm slowly easing them into high school and trying to teach them how to take tests in high school...now my study guides aren't exactly what is on the test just larger topics, themes or important terms .. I don't really do it with my sophomores

8th grade teacher here.
I do for the NYS test in June. The test covers 2 yrs worth of material so it's a packet.
Other than that no because it encourages students to only study the review sheet/ study guide and not all of their notes and/or text.
My chairperson told us not to for that reason. Also some parents complained they weren't being given out far enough in adavnce

There is a book called " Worksheets Don't Grow Dendrites"
Basically it is against worksheets from what I understand.

My school is agains them, but the kids love them. They actually do homework when I give them a worksheet to do. I use them as often as I can get away with.

I am 4th, and I use review sheets for vocabulary, math and S.S.
I find it helps them organize what they need to know. They need to complete them on their own, so they can practice finding important info.

Re: Do you use study guide sheets in your classroom....Why or why not?
absolutely. it gives them the general outline of what they need to know, but they still have to study. they could memorize the review sheet, but if they don't UNDERSTAND the concepts, they won't pass.
i think it's ridiculous for a school to not allow them. i passed many a test in college due to outlines.

Marisa, I have when i was working with upper grades. But for my spec ed I used the test as a guideline. Though they rarely studied it anyway
For 1st grade now, I dont we dont really take any tests to make a study guide for.

Re: Do you use study guide sheets in your classroom....Why or why not?
I teach 10th and 11th grade. For my 10th graders (inclusion class) I give out review sheets for most topics. For my 11th graders I review what they should know beforehand, but do not give out a formal sheet. Sometimes I wonder if it is even worth it for the 10th graders - I would say like maybe 10 out of my 70 kids study from it.
