do you use the humidifier only when sick or in the winter?
I don't know if I should leave it out and use it or just in the winter?
it takes up soo much space, but I don't want to unload it 2x a month either and they said not to leave it with water in it for bacterial reasons.

I use a cool mist humidifier every night for my dd, it soothes her, drownds sound, and adds moisture to the air.

If you choose to use a humidifier everynight, you must be very careful with mold, cleaning the filter weekly, etc. We use it only when he is congested. My pulmonologist said it can worsen asthma. There are white noise machines and my son uses a dvd player that plays all night.

My ped recommends it all year long. We just use in the winter when the heat is on.....

honestly, DD is 14 mths and we have used ours on one occasion....she had her first cold at 6 mths and we ran it for like 2 days....she has never been sick since and we havent seen a need for it ....

We just use it when DC are sick and congested. I'm not a fan of doing routines that are hard to take with you when you are traveling. They really shouldn't need it every night.

ABOUT THE WHITE NOISE MACHINE DO THEY SELL IT IN A STORE
I JUST SAW A SITE WHERE THEY HAVE CD'S FOR NOISES LIKE WHITE NOISE, WASHINE MACHINE, CAR RIDE, FAN, BLOW DRYER, ETC... IT WAS KOOL

Just when she is sick. I don't want to add too much moisture to the room since it has carpet. We use a sound machine everyday though
