Do you welcome chatters at work?
Do you welcome co-workers that pass by to chat?
I always get people coming into my office to 'chat' with me. Most of the times, I welcome the break, but many times I Just want to get back to work (or back on LIF  ).... especially the annoying chatters.

I don't like it when people come into my office to bs but I can't be rude either, so I basically nod a lot and try not to encourage more talking out of them lol

NO, this is going to sound rude and horrible but I cannot STAND when people stand around my desk trying to chat.. honestly there is NOTHING i feel like talking to them about, we have nothing in common AND it just winds up distracting and/or annoying me...
maybe that's because I cannot stand 99.9% of the people I work with  Ya think?

YES! I do this... but it doesn't work. So I'll sometimes even turn to the computer to answer emails, and keep turning back to them and nod, and they STILL don't get the hint!

Oh yeah....they keep going and going. My phone could be ringing and they still insist on talking. Sometimes, I just have to say I HAVE TO GET THIS.....geez some people!

Since our office is usually very quiet (there's only 5 of us total) I usually do enjoy it. But, the 2 men usually aren't very chatty, one of the women is foreign and sometimes very hard to understand, so hard to chat with, and the other is my good friend, so we usually end talking a lot when it's slow.

I do but to a point.....my cube neighbors have people coming by ALL day and sometimes when I am making a phone call I can't hear...it gets annoying. Sometimes there are like 5 people at once.

Me and my boss talk alll dayyy long. i work with only 1 female (my boss) and the rest are all males (obviously)-i have a few guys who talk non stop but i tell this one nonstop talking character to go and sit down.

At my job now, they are not as much as chatters. In my old they were chatters and there were a few people I would always chat with a bit every day. Also this is a much smaller workplace (only 7 full timers and a number of pages). I work at a library.

I like the people I work with and we are always so swamped so if someone chats with me for a few minutes I dont mind the break. Just dont chat with me when I am running credit cards. I need to concentrate and make sure I am not double charging someone.
