Doc's office call backs
I really like my doctors but I feel like the office is not well run. I just had my 1 hour glucose test and passed, however, I had to follow up with my doc's office to find out the results. It's been like this for every test I've had so far. Is this normal? There are times I've had to call repeatedly to get an answer because I get the run around or they tell me they are too busy to check my chart.

Re: Doc's office call backs
my dr's office doesn't call with results unless they are abnormal...
however, if I call them, I get automatically extended to a nurse whose sole job is managing the charts and reading results to patients over the phone.... no wait or run around....
I think I'd also be a bit if they didn't even bother to look the results up when I called....

Re: Doc's office call backs
My doctors office only calls if something comes back abnormal.
If I call for any of my results I always go into a voicemail of a nurse who returns my call with my chart and numbers in front of her. She wont tell me the numbers unless I ask for them. I usually get everything is normal, nothing to worry about. If I tell her well I'd really like to know what the numbers were or what came back she'll tell me.

Re: Doc's office call backs
It is important to follow up...With my Dr. I haven't needed to as he calls personally with all results. His practice is run like it is 1950 and I just love him.

Re: Doc's office call backs
i kept getting the run around too and come to find out no news is not always good news and the only way i knew that something wasnt right was because I had called!! Nobody tried calling me about this! I was fuming. Eventually, this kept happening with no return phone calls and rude office ladies.. and i switched my OB at 28 weeks and couldnt be happier. I get returned phone calls within just a few hours of my call. Id try to address this to the dr. and see what he/she says. Goodluck!

Re: Doc's office call backs
My dr has a call in # where they leave you messages with results. I have a pin # and call in after my tests. I have had all normal tests so far. I think it it was negative or abnormal they'd call.
