I've been watching the 9/11 documentary on Netflix and I want to watch the Spike Lee - 9/11 - New York one on HBO.

I mostly watch true crime docs - on Hulu and Netflix.

Re: Documentaries

Here are some of the most recent I've seen that I thought were really good:

The Last Days (Netflix), a holocaust doc.

In the Same Breath (HBO), a covid doc.

Seduced: Inside the NXIVM Cult (Starz), a cult doc.

The Vow (HBO), a cult doc.

Kid 90 (Hulu), a 90s celebrity doc.

WeWork: Or the making and breaking of a $47 billion unicorn (Hulu), about the rise and downfall of the guy who started wework.

Fyre: the greatest party that never happened (Netflix), a scam festival doc.

Fyre Fraud (Hulu), a scam festival doc.

Some Kind of Heaven (Hulu), a florida 55+ community doc.

My Octopus Teacher (Netflix), an underwater octopus/diver doc.

Science Fair (Disney Plus), a HS science fair doc.

Woodstock on HBO max. It’s about the Woodstock from the 90’s, not the original. It’ll really turn your stomach.

I just watched it tonight. I had no idea about it bc I never paid much attention to the brand since I thought the prints were ugly. The bonus paid were insane! No wonder so many people wanted to be involved.

Haha, I binged it on Sunday afternoon as well. The money they made was crazy! It was sad how many lost so much at the end, though.

The prints were so ugly!

I found it funny when DeAnne was asked if they were forced to use some hashtag, and she said no. Then they showed her someone’s instagram with that hashtag and she said “she only got 2 likes” and then rolled her eyes.

LOL!

She was clearly lying in her depositions - they're stupid to think they can't get caught when so much of their stuff was on video.

I just watched an interesting one about iceberg slim. I also watched one on Richard Pryor and one on James Brown. Pryor and Brown were both raised by prostitutes in a brothel...

I just watched this one. It was really interesting and sickening. So many parts were disturbing and you can see where the whole incel / mass school shootings came from.

What I found was interesting was what was happening with music at that particular point in time (TRL and all of that). I was never interested in those bands at the time as I started to become more interested in industrial and electronic music around 95.

I do remember going to a few Lalapaloozas and saw Rage in 1993. The crowd was way too violent when they were on and that was when they had just begun. That was a good festival, but it started to suck around 1995 or so.

Anyway, it was a good documentary.

Re: Documentaries

Thank u guys for the recs. I had watched My Octopus Teacher already it was amazing! That little octopus really moved me, more than I’d have ever expected!

I watched Woodstock and my jaw dropped a few times. It’s mind blowing how human behavior can become so despicable and yet not even realize it at the moment. And I must say, although those music bands were not directly responsible, they definitely instigated that violent behavior and indirectly encourage it by giving people even more of a reason to feel entitled to behave that way.

I just finished the Lularoe doc and wow! I had no idea it was a total scam! I feel for the people that got tremendously taken advantage of, the ones that lost their homes, got divorced, lost family members/friends. I can’t believe they’re actually still in business!! And I must admit, I was a customer and still have pieces that don’t even really love! I don’t know how or why I even bought them to begin with!
