Does a high heartbeat really mean a girl?
What is normal? Yesterday my babies heartbeat was 175 which they said was normal. But is that considered fast?

Re: Does a high heartbeat really mean a girl?
At the beginning, my 's heartbeat was very fast, and now at 28 weeks it has slowed down.

Re: Does a high heartbeat really mean a girl?
In the beginning heartrate was 160+ so I thought a girl. Now at 6 months it is around 140 which is what DS #1's heartbeat was.

Re: Does a high heartbeat really mean a girl?
I don't think you can tell at all by heartrate...
In the beginning all heartrates are fast..as the baby gets bigger, it slows and normal range can be 120-180 (I think).
However...with both my 's, they have had heartrates consistently between 140-150, never higher.

Re: Does a high heartbeat really mean a girl?
My DD was around 135-145 range most of my pregnancy with her. This pregnancy the doc hasn't really shared the heart rate with me, we just talk while he listens for the heart beat. As long as one is still there, I'm happy.

Re: Does a high heartbeat really mean a girl?
I was wondering this too...just had my first NST at 28.5 weeks and the baby's heartbeat was between 160-180 depending on when they moved etc....and they have always been on the higher side since the beginning too....so according to the old wives tale that would lead me to think but we are holding till the end =)
