Does anybody teach in East New York
I hear horrible things about the area that wants me to do a demo lesson, but it is the only opportunity I have right now :(
What do I do?

Re: Does anybody teach in East New York
My dad grew up in East New York YEARS ago, and back THEN the area was terrible.
I'd hold out and wait for another call. It's not worth your safety.

Re: Does anybody teach in East New York
I would do the demo and get a feel for the place.
I teach on LI in an area that many people would consider not-so-nice. Honestly, I absolutely love it! There is something very, very rewarding about working in a district for students that really NEED you. I have never felt unsafe, but it is not the type of area I would walk around at night alone in.

Re: Does anybody teach in East New York
Thanks for all of the responses
The exact address is 104 Sutter Avenue Brooklyn NY 11212 IS 392 It is a 6-8, new school. Enrollement is just under 300 and there are 17 teachers in the building.
Anybody who really knows this exact area, please tell me the brutally honest truth.
