Does anyone actually believe this? (not covid related)
Changing the tone of things and starting a non covid related thread.
Few months ago a Chinese tennis star accused a former government official of sexually assaulting her.
Of course the government denied it and all of a sudden she disappeared and nobody knew where she was.
Then last month an email "from her" was sent and it said she was not missing and was not assaulted.
Then today she does an interview and said she was never missing and she never said someone attacked her.
Does china actually expects people to believe her story? They are messed up.
She was probably in some re-education location for the past few months and was tortured and her family threatened.

Yeah the Chinese government is some scary stuff.

I don't think China cares what their people think or what we think or believe.
They must care a little or else she would have disappeared forever or ended up a permanent bedroom guest of some high ranking guy

IMHO, something awful happened to her. The only reason she didn't permanently disappear is because too many people on the world stage were questioning her whereabouts. IF the Olympics weren't in China in 2022, I would think she would become a modern day defector.
