Does anyone bring a list of ?'s to the Dr's appnt?

I have a LOT of things I need to go over with the Dr. This appointment ( tommorow) and I feel weird pulling out a piece of paper with a list, I dont know why.

Am I strange?

Does anyone honestly have a list they look at and ask , and The Dr doesnt or wont think Im nuts if I do this. LOL

That is not strange at all. I always would think of something that I wanted to ask and then forget when I got there! That is a great idea! She will not think you are strange!

Don't feel strange, it keeps your thoughts together better. It's funny you ask this, because I have not brought a list yet, but I already have a list of like 6 questions for my appointment on Monday!

Re: Does anyone bring a list of ?'s to the Dr's appnt?

I really need to do this because I seem to get distracted by seeing the baby on screen Chat Icon I forget everything else.

I went to the dr on Monday for a bad cold (2-weeks) and I left the exam room without so much as talking about it. I talked to the doctor while I was making my next appointment and felt rushed. Then I left and realized I had more questions.

Thank god for this site because I really feel clueless about some of the stuff that is happeneing! Chat Icon

I always bring a list of questions, because I get so overwhelmed sometimes that I forget to ask what I want to ask. A lot of people do this -- in fact, a lot of the PG books recommend that you bring a list, so I'm sure the doctors have seen it all before!

Well, you are strangeChat Icon

But no, I do this because I forget and I feel more annoying calling and having to ask later on, just look at it that way!

My doctor seems to like when I pull out my lists...better than me trying to remember what to ask (that takes me forever).

Go ahead - it'll be fine and will be a good way to make sure you get everything answered.

I do it all the time. I know I'd forget by the time I got there. MY doctor doesn't look at me like it is weird. I am sure they expect that.

I always did. You should have seen the list of questions I had when I went to interview pediatricians!

I try to write a list and glance at it while I am waiting. I have never had such a big list that I had to look at it while talking to the dr

Of course!!

Otherwise I forget everything I want to ask.

I call it the "Barnes & Noble" syndrome. There are always 100 books I want to read but once I get into B&N I can't remember the title of a single one. Chat Icon

I have been taking a list with me so far. I know my midwife probably thinks I am nuts.

Re: Does anyone bring a list of ?'s to the Dr's appnt?

Don't feel weird, bring a pen too so you can write down the dr's answers.

I did this for every single appt for my 1st pg, so i didn't leave the dr's office confused or kickin myself for forgetting to ask something, it gives you so much piece of mind
