Does anyone else get super-emotional...
getting rid of the baby clothes?
I've been tackling this project little by little (starting with the "big girl" clothes because they're not as cute. ) because my DH has really been on my case. Today I went up into my attic to clear out some boxes of baby clothes I'd been saving in case #3 was a girl (he wasn't!). One of my good friends had a baby girl last night, and I know I had a ton of things with tags still on them to give her.
I just got so overwhelmingly sad. It's like each little outfit contained a memory. There will be no more baby girls in our house. I'm not even kidding, I'm crying right now typing this.
Are any of you this sentimental? Sigh...

Yep! ESPECIALLY her newborn clothes- those tiny little things that she wore when she was so small and new. God, I'm tearing up just writing this...

Yes, even though we found out #2 is a boy and there also wont be any more girls in this house, the thought of packing up DD's stuff gives me major anxiety....

Exactly this!!! They look so tiny now that I can hardly believe DS was small enough to fit into them!

Yes, and my DD isn't even 1 yet!
Everytime I have to take another size out of her dresser that she doesn't fit in, I get sad.

Yes! I just bought a big bin yesterday at Target to put her too small clothes in. It made me rethink my decision for DC #2.

Yes, it is so sad! I don't even want to think about having to get rid of all those little outfits.

See, that's it. When I packed them away originally I wasn't sad...even though I may never had had any more use for them.
Now that it's final, I'm just in pieces.
Strangely, with my DS, I'm really not sad at all and I've literally been taking them the minute he's grown out of them and donating them. I guess because at 4 mos, we really haven't had much time to build up these memories and he IS currently a baby.

I tell trevor the same thing lol. I get excited when he gets bigger and bigger. He's only in 3 to 6 clothes but packing away the newborn and 0 to 3 clothes made me feel like I am doing such a good job in taking care of him.

Re: Does anyone else get super-emotional...
Yes I cannot bear to even THINK about giving them away. That is why we are hoping for # 3 so I at least get to use baby clothes from either DS or DD.
I know there are certain things I will never be able to give away.
I opened up a baby bin the other day to find socks for one of DD's dolls and I sat there breathing in the clothes ( with a onesie up to my face) and my 5 year said "mom you are acting a little crazy".... I told her she would understand someday and then that sentence sent me in another tailspin.
Its not easy being a mom

Re: Does anyone else get super-emotional...
I have been the same way with clothes recently!!! When I was packing up the twins preemie and newborn stuff I wasn't emtional....i guess because they were still so tiny and new.
Now.....at 16 months packing up and sending away stuff makes me sooooo emotional!! It makes me sad to think no more babies in this house (seriously.....just typing it and I am tearing up)

Re: Does anyone else get super-emotional...
Yes, Bethany can confirm that I am super-emotional. I cried in front of her when she came to my house to get a swing, bouncy seat and some clothes. I cried the entire night bc my house looked so empty. We have such terrific memories of seeing the boys use those things and wear all of the clothes. I know, I need to get over it!
