Does anyone else have a BOSSY child?
Megan is just like my sister was when she was little. When she plays with other kids, she always wants to be the boss, always wants things done her way. She means no harm, its just her personality.
Yesterday she was playing with the little boy from next door. She kept putting her hands on his shoulders, telling him where to go. This little boy is SO QUIET, so he just went with it. But I felt so bad. She wasnt hitting or doing anything to hurt him but she wanted it her way. Then she kept telling him not to climb the stairs (shes not allowed to go up the concrete steps alone, theres no hand rail but he is allowed)..I guess because she knows she isnt allowed but just so bossy.
Anyone elses kid like this?? I get a little embarrassed and try to curb it but she means no harm.

Yup, I have one that thinks she is the boss of everyone! She also thinks she's my younger DC's second mother and loves telling him what he can and can't do.

Yup, Alex definitely has those tendencies - I guess that's why her teachers nicknamed her the "mother hen" at school

Re: Does anyone else have a BOSSY child?
Oh yeah and it does get embarrassing. She somehow feels the need to enforce all the rules she has on other children. I caught her yelling at the little girl across the street to put her shoes on one day! I was just telling my DH the other day how I feel sorry for her future friends.

Yep...this is SO Megan.
I actually told my dh the same thing!!
How do you handle it??? I feel like its wrong for telling her to stop since she knows her rules and its her personality but I feel embarassed at the same time!

I usually tell her that it's up to her mommy to tell her what to do not her but lately anything I tell Maddie goes in one ear and out the other.

This is the way Kaitee is with her younger sister. She isn't too bad with my friends kids though.
