Does anyone else have friends that make HORRIBLE choice in members of the opposite sex
and what do you do?
Our Best Man from our wedding is a nice guy. He is ok looking. But the kind of guy that would give anyone the shirt off this back. For this reason he only seems to meet women that have MAJOR I mean MAJOR issues. In the 8 years I have known him he has dated:
1) a woman that was in love with someone else and eventually married the other person but wishes it was him
2) a woman that was old enough to be my mother, lived in Chicago and kept promising to move here when her daughter was done with school and of course when that happened never did. Oh and everytime he was ready to break up with her she would claim that she was pregnant. She was pregnant she was skipping periods because she was in the beginning stages of menopause
3) Then he dated a girl that barely spoke English and started freaking out when I had my daughter and our other friends had their daughter because she possibly can't give our friend any kids- they had only been dating a month! Then she moved in and out of his apartment all in the span of 3 months. Strung him along for months and did all this stuff that is too personal for me to even go into. Played a ton of mind games with him and caused him to distance himself from his friends.
4) Then he started dating the best friend of one of his wive's friend. This girl had an ex who was 'stalking' her. Everything was wonderful and one day she 'just up and leaves' him for the stalker.
So now what is he doing- well he is going out to dinner with #3 again
I just want to scream wake the F up!!! I feel so bad for him because he obviously thinks that he can't do better and he is such a great guy.
Anyone else have friends like this-- what do you say to them?

Here, here!! I used to preach to them all the time, but now I keep my mouth shut because I'm sure they can look at my situation sometimes and be like Hey, do you think he'd be into AnneMarie?

Yes... and she married him and now has 2 kids with him, and he controls every aspect of her life--she is not allowed to go out at night, if it's dark out she must be home, and can't wear jeans beacuse they are "too revealing, and too tight".
I could go on and on.
We begged her not to marry him, and he has now moved her halfway across the country so we can't be around her.

I know a few people that have made what I feel is the "wrong" choice, but reality is that they are all adults and capable of making their own choices weather I feel it's right or wrong. Sometimes you gotta let the situation ride out and things will work themselves out eventually.

Re: Does anyone else have friends that make HORRIBLE choice in members of the opposite sex
I have a friend that does very well for himself and is also very good looking. He has been looking for the right girl...in all the wrong places. and everytime I meet one of these girls my 1st reaction is "she is after his $$"
He finally met a nice girl...brought her to my wedding... I thought she was perfect for him...the problem is that she has alot of drama from her past.
This poor guy can't catch a break...He tells me that he wants all the grown up things...a wife and house and kids...but he can't find anyone to fill in the role of wife and mother.

I am sure he would- who wouldn't be! She is so sweet. It's whether he would be into her. I will e-mail you a picture later!
