I give her sliced apples and she gives me the peels, she eats the actual inside of the apple and then leaves the peel

mine don't eat the skin either..

if I give it to them whole, they'll bite and spit the skin out lol

I tested DC at around 9m wtih apple and peel on, he chewed on it, swallowed the apple part, and chewed on the peel like it was gum. He doesn't have teeth for it, so I don't know what I was expecting, I felt like an idiot the second I did it. But it was small enough piece to swallow, so I thought he might. But nope, chewed on it like gum.

I think he'll be handing them to me in the future

He handles food really well, we haven't had a gagging or choking issue ever. He was born to eat, just not apple peels

Mine doesn't either. He holds it like he's eating an Orange slice or a watermelon slice and eats until he gets to the skin.

My DD used to eat it all (& still mostly does) but there's times she tells me she's eating it like her friend Michael (like a watermelon, mommy)

DS doesn't like the peels now. I don't think he used to care but now he'll take the piece, (I still usually cut it up b/c he doesn't believe in small bites ) chew it, and spit the peel back out.

He doesn't have an issue with pear skin though.

Be thankful she gives them to you. I just find little chewed up pieces of apple skin all over the place! Oh and the little pits from the clementines... I'm raising a farm animal!

Yes, both my girls. I learned not to bother. I just peel a whole apple and give it to them that way - so much easier. We had a playdate here recently with some girls from DD's preschool and I gave the children packages of sliced apples - I think all of them but one asked their mother's to peel off the skin.

DS does that too! He will also take a bite of a whole apple and proceed to hand me the half chewed skins too

I usually peel the apple before I slice it for DD. Otherwise she chews the peel FOREVER and sometimes I find pieces of it around the house...ew!

DS doesn't like the skin so I cut it off.
