Does anyone elses DC have an issue with other people holding them?
We went to a family a reunion and DS would NOT go to anyone else other than myself and DH. I couldnt believe how he would cry instantly if he was in someone's elses arms.
How do you deal with this?

Oh yeah! John has been doing it since May. He is only use to me, DH and my parents. He cries at anyone else that gets right in his face or tries to hold him. The only thing I did was hold him and have him face the person and we would talk and play with his toys for awhile then, I would put him in that person's arms. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. They call it "stranger anxiety" and there isn't much you can do.

DS is like this sometimes. He used to be worse with it and would want no one but myself or DH. He is better now and sometimes will reach out to me or DH if someone else is holding him.

My DS goes to anyone but that is b/c ever since he was born I let everyone hold him. I didn't want him to get picky.

My DS will go to anyone - but once he gets super fussy I'll either take him or DH will bc no one else can calm him down then.

He could be very uncomfortable about it. I was a VERY shy child and did not want other people to hold me at all. I still don't like people touchy feely with me. I would not "Force" him. That could be his personality.
Maybe he does not see them often enough so he is not comfortable with them.

Same here. Not always by choice, but everyone held him too. Just lately though he has started getting a little fussy when some people hold him. Usually men.

DS will not go to anyone but me or DH, including family. He does not even like people to look at him. He has severe stranger anxiety. I'm hoping it is a phase that he will outgrow or learn to cope with. Makes it very difficult at times and I feel like I'm constantly apologizing for him.
ETA: I just don't let anyone hold him or let them try after he's had a long while to warm up to them, but even still, he only wants me. Sorry!
