Does anyone follow a special PCOS diet?
Something is really wrong with me and while this is not IF specificially for me I know that many of you have PCOS. I am going to my OB next week to talk to her about this. I have known for 2 years that something is not right with me but didn't think PCOS. My weight gain issues are so really, really hard for me to deal with and it is really effecting my life. Do any of you follow a special PCOS diet that has helped you lose weight? I hope it is okay to ask this here even though I am not TTC right now.

Re: Does anyone follow a special PCOS diet?
Welcome. Having PCOS myself, I try to eat more protein, less carbs. When I do have carbs, I have whole grains rather than white grains. I have either whole grain bread instead of white and sometimes will have brown rice instead of white (though I usually just limit my white rice since I really dont' like brown rice).

Look into South Beach or Suzanne Somers' diet-just read about this yesterday. SB is REALLY hard in the first 2 weeks and you feel like crap I must warn you.

Re: Does anyone follow a special PCOS diet?
I started by cutting out all sugar, and then started to watch my carb intake. However, I had such a hard time with that (even though I lost a bunch of weight), I was also seeing a nutrionist that specialized in PCOS. But now I'm doing plain old Weight Watchers. I've lost over 8lbs in the past 4 weeks alone and feel great.
