does anyone give their dc melatonin to help them sleep?
if so, did the pediatrician recommend a dosage?
our ped told us to try it with hannah but i can't remember what dose.

i take it and on the bottle it says not to take if under the age of 18. it works wonders for me tho

Yes, i give it to my 7 year old.. i give him 3mg a night. i'm not sure of the dose for your daughter.. but i would start with 1mg and see if it works

melatonin did horrible things to me so i wouldn't even think of giving it to DS.
however, if your doctor says it's fine for your child then i would give it. i just wouldn't ever give it to my children because of my experience with it. i won't take anything herbal or "natural" anymore because of it.

i don't mind at all
it made my heart race so fast that i was ready to have DH call an ambulance. i thought i was about to have a heart attack--so scary and i've never felt that before in my life.  thank goodness it went away on its own but we were both VERY scared. i threw the entire bottle out that night. so if i reacted that way, and i'm a grown adult, i can't imagine giving it to my child, who might have the same reaction but won't be able to tell me about it.
