Does anyone have a 60" HDTV in their living room?
Is it too big for a 12x18 room? I'm a firm believer that bigger isn't always better.

Re: Does anyone have a 60" HDTV in their living room?
do u mean lcd or plasma?
i have about the same size room and i have a standard big screen 53" in there... it's maybe 6-7 feet away from our face when we are on the couch... the room looks kinda cluttered but it's fine for viewing.. purposes

if the tv is on the wall 18'...then you are good.
too close to view 60" on the short wall
you can get away with on the short wall but it will look very big and wide... considering your viewing distance will be 9-10 feet away (this is ours but with a 50" plasma)

60" I could probably see that without my glasses. We have a 27" in our LR, but yeah, its a little too small What about a 50"?
BTW, I'm jealous!!

I had to read this twice... doh! It will be on the "long" wall although my 3 year old will still find it necessary to try to get INto the TV.
Thanks!

Don't be jealous, I'm still driving my Camry.
We have a 32" now, and it's by no means too small, but we could move that one into our bedroom and the 22" up to the office and the office 20" into the playroom.
ETA: or I could just buy a $99 20" to replace the one in the playroom.

Re: Does anyone have a 60" HDTV in their living room?
long wall is good but...
measure how far your couches are back...you are safe at 10 feet away , anything closer, imo will not look right. U will find yourself not focusing on the screen but at say the right side, or the top at key points in shows...

Thanks for your responses everyone! I bought the 55". It's coming Wednesday! I told DH and he's kinda right now.
