Does anyone have a bar/bar storage in their LR? Not a wine rack.
DH really wants to get a bar type pc of furniture. I really don't want one but it's literally the ONLY thing he has asked for in the house besides the flat panel TV. Everything else has been all me.
I found these both at PB.
This one I would get in mahogany. I like it bc it can also be used as a desk, so in a couple of years when he realizes we don't need a bar, we can convert it.
I like this one too but it doesnt serve a dual purpose like the other one, but I like the looks.
Does anyone have one, or have seen a nice one for under $1600?

we have the one from crate and barrel that is on casters - it can move around - it stores liqueur, wine, glasses, a decent amount of room - then we have nice picture above
crate and barrel steamer bar
the ones from pottery barn are very nice

I have a piece from Pottery Barn. It's great extra storage. I'd attach a photo but I don't think Pottery Barn sells it anymore. We have it in mahogany.

You can also try homedecorators.com. They have many different options as well.

I have the first piece that you posted and right now I am using it as a dining room piece ( I have an open floor plan living room/dining room) I love it because it matches my living room furniture and in the future when we move to a bigger house I am going to use it as desk. I also love it because when I have company I open the "desk" part and use it as a server.

I was just going to say we almost got this one from Crate and Barrel. Much cheaper than PB and nicer in person than it looks online. It's less bulky than the PB ones too. Link

Howard Miller makes one that we LOVE!!! I posted it a while back. It's sold in stores for $1200, you might get it for less if you get it from NC.

We have this one in my family room - from C&B and love it. I bought it a few years back but I think it only comes in espresso. I think Pottery Barn and a few others now make a similar one. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=913&f=8901&q=bar&fromLocation=Search&DIMID=400913&SearchPage=1

Re: Does anyone have a bar/bar storage in their LR? Not a wine rack.
we have one that I got from Target years ago.
it's on casters, has 2 racks for wine, 2 shelves for spirits and a shelf for hanging classes. it has a marble top, a rod for hanging hand towels and a utility drawer. it was about $100.
we coupled that with an old wooden china cabinet that we almost threw out. that holds the majority of our classes and a cheese plate collection I've had for a long time.
we set this up and put this print on the wall above it.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE our bar area. If I had my way, I would expand it....but even with a small piece and small area, it serves it's purpose, and I feel adds a certain edge to your typical living room.

We have the same one. It's really beautiful and well-made and holds everything. I like it better than a wine rack b/c everything stays clean inside...

Re: Does anyone have a bar/bar storage in their LR? Not a wine rack.
I really like both of the ones you posted and I think you can use the second one as a buffet/or sideboard in a kitchen/dining room or even in the living room if you have an open floor plan. During a party you can set food up there and still use it as a bar area.

Re: Does anyone have a bar/bar storage in their LR? Not a wine rack.
We have a set of Ikea units that DH uses for all of our glasses and our immense bar storage (it goes next to our wine fridge). He keeps this in our family room (AKA Man's room). I actually love having it all seperate in another area. We have tons of wine and liquor too.

Re: Does anyone have a bar/bar storage in their LR? Not a wine rack.
We just purchased this console table at Pottery Barn. We took out the shelves and it fits all our liquor in both cabinets. We have our bar tools and decanters, etc. on top. On the bottom we have some decorative glasses (chinese tea set, saki cups) I can take a picture of our set up if you think that would help.
