from what I understand, the original pound cake is a really basic.... pound of butter, pound of flour, a pound of eggs, and a pound of sugar.....
any recipe that matches that cholesterol treat will be the best pound cake recipe

here's a recipe that's pretty true to the original form (with the exception of added baking powder).....
