Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
The kitchen feels like mile away at night and we have a large bedroom. I wanted to get a mini refrigerator to stick in a corner (maybe even the closet) with a couple bottles of water - is that so bad? Is it unheard of?
DH is completely against it but I want to hear your thoughts and see if you anyone has tried it

I know of diabetics who might have one in their bedroom if the insulin is too far to get too if there was a problem in the middle of the night, but ummm...other than that...refrigerators belong in the kitchen IMHO.

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
I usually keep a bottle of water on my nightstand if I need something to drink during the night (which is usually never!) But if it wasn't there, I'd want it

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
I have a pretty large bedroom and stairs to get to the kitchen...I just bring ice water and set it on my bedside table. I drink from it at night.
The fridge is too much, IMO.

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
I never really heard of that and wouldn't do it personally but maybe if you got a piece of furniture where you could hide the fridge - like they do in hotels?

Why dont you get a teeny tiny fridge like one of these.... I am sure you could hide it somewhere in your room!

if you think you REALLY need it, disguise it in the closet. IMO though, it reminds me of a frat house or dorm room.

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
My friend had a water cooler in her room. Mind you the house was huge and she was on one of the floors w/o a kitchen. (Yes there were 2&1/2 kitchens ) I like that bedside water carafe from Restoration hardware. Not sure if they still have thou. I wouldn't have one in my BR but the idea of maybe having one hidden in a piece of furniture sounds ok.

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
my Dad & his wife have a "coffee bar" in their bedroom. It has a countertop with sink, a built in small fridge, a pull out garbage can & a small cabinet. Their bedroom is at least 1000 sq feet, its actually a bedroom, sitting area, dressing area & closet area. Its also two levels. Their real kitchen is a mile away. So they love the coffee bar. DH & I talked about putting a small one in our bedroom & it would fit but we'd never use it. I just take a glass of water up with me every night.

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
My DH and I intend to put one in our master bedroom when we remodel, but it will be hidden in an armoire or closet.
Our friends just added a huge master suite to their masterbedroom and they regret not putting in a small fridge. (It was in the plans to put into a closet in their master bathroom, but for whatever reason, they opted not to do it.)

This is what I do...For me, there is no need for a fridge in my bedroom

Re: Does anyone have a mini- refrigerator in the bedroom
I grew up with a fridge in the LIVING ROOM (small one) for my dad's BEER!!!
(OMG!! This sounds so trashy!! but it was also used as a bar area in a large living room )
I don't think it's a big deal at all to have one in the bedroom for water ...
