Does anyone have a Peg Perego car seat?

I registered for a Peg Perego stroller and was considering the matching car seat. My DH really likes it but I was afraid it might be a little heavy. It is between a Graco Snug ride and the PegPerego.
Pros: PP goes up to 33lbs, and Graco only 22lbs.

Graco is cheaper, but we are pretty sure MIL is going to buy this for us. Plus I showed her both and she liked the matching seat better.

Graco is about 2lbs lighter then the PP, which is nice, because those things are already super heavy and akward to hold.

PP clicks in automatically to the stroller. Graco fits as well, but you have to get a special strap through PP.

PP is better looking, not that really matters.

just something to think about...

even though the PP will take a baby up to 30 pounds, you may not want to be lugging your baby around in an infant carrier/carseat by then. DS is almost 19 pounds and I HAD to retire the infant carseat. It just got too heavy to carry him from the house to the car in the infant carseat.

I completely agree with what Alison said....

Kristina is 18 lbs now, and I prob gave up her infant carrier when she was 16lbs....

It was just wayyyyyyyyyy too much!

Good point! My sister has three kids and I know how heavy those seats get.
Now I'm confused on what to get!!!

I guess you could still use the infant car seat and just take the baby out of it when he/she gets too heavy.

I have the Safe Seat

My bff has the snug ride...

I couldn't believe the diff in weight between the 2. if i had it all over to do again, i would most likely go with the snug ride.

Yeah, the snug ride was pretty light weight compared with other car seats. Who makes the Safe Seat?

There is a couple of lbs of diff between the 2 with the Safe Seat being the heavier. It allows for more weight, but I never took into account how heavy 16+ lbs along wth the weight of the car seat really is!

i have it and love it. Honestly they are heavy and I can't imagine you would notice 2 lbs all that much, but maybe it is just me. I really liked that they match and am so thrilled with the carseat and stroller!!

I agree with the previous poster, I really doubt you will be able to tell the difference between 2 pounds. I have the Peg and I absolutely love it. My son is 6 months old and 20 pounds and I still use it with him. I love that it matches my Peg Uno stroller too.

I have both the stroller and the car seat. I like them but the car seat is super heavy to carry. even when my son hardly weighed a thing it was a pain to lug around. But, I have heard that the Peg got better safety ratings than the Graco, although I am sure the Graco is still VERY safe.

I am already considering moving my son to the big boy car seat though and he is only 18 or so lbs so you will definitely not use it up to 30lbs! their legs just get too long for it even if they haven't met the weight limit yet.
