Does anyone have a PhD in their subject area?
mathematics or one of the sciences, specifically?
I want to continue on with my education, but I really don't want to go the traditional "education administration" route that so many teachers go. I just don't see myself in that field.
I'm most worried about being able to "handle" it - if that's the right word. I love math, but am I going to love it at that level? How do I know if I'm cut out for it?

I don't .... but maybe you should sit down and meet with a faculty member of a program you're interested in...i'm sure they could give you more info. and tell you whether or not you would be a good match for the program, etc.
