AT&T/Cingular/AT&T customer for about 9 years, and haven't had a problem ...
I think it depends on where you live and where you work/travel ... I think all the service providers have coverage maps on their websites.

I've never had any issues with my Verizon wireless. There are some dead spots up north, but that's because the towns won't let them put cell towers.
My DH has Sprint Nextel and it SUCKS!

i used to have sprint and hated it with a passion. my brother had nextel---hated it--then switched to t-mobile--hated it--and now has verizon and loves it

I think you will find that there will be people out here who love every company and people who hate every company.
What exactly are you looking for in a service? What kind of features do you want to use? Will you need email or internet? Text messaging? How many minutes.
All of these factors will help determine what would be best for you!
ETA: Who do you currently have? How much do you pay and what do you get for that cost? It might end up that you are getting the best deal out there... not sure!

I have a work phone and a personal phone through Verizon and T-Mobile. I LOVE Verizon. The service is very reliable!

Have used AT&T/Cingular/AT&T since the moment I got a cell phone years ago and have never ever had a service/coverage issue.

I have At&t (Cingluar). Generally speaking it's okay but I find there are dead zones. I don't know where you live or travel to but I lose service:
By 106 and 107 on the SS Pkwy
Sagtikos Pkwy
Southern State by Bayshore/Deer Park
Northern state in the Commack/Hauppague area.
Smithtown (old Willets path area)

I went with t-mobile, it seemed to have the best deal for me. I had nexte/sprint, and it was just WAY too much. I shopped around all day, this seemed to have the best deal to suit my needs. Thanks!!!
