does anyone have a toddler with acid reflux
hannah was diagnosed as an infant and then it seemed to get better. she stopped taking zantac at one year. but i am wondering if it has come back? she is a very picky eater, had a perpetual cough, especially at night which causes vomiting.
if your toddler has reflux, are they on meds? how did you know?

Re: does anyone have a toddler with acid reflux
My DD is 2 1/2 and has AR. She was on Zantac for the 1st year of her life. Zantac never really helped her with spitting up or eating better.
We finally saw a actual good GI dr. when she was almost 1 year old. Unfortunately, with DDs case he recommended we do a upper endoscopy to check to see what is going on. It is invasive, I know, but is the only way to see anything that is going on in there.
My poor baby had severe redness and inflamation in her espoghagus (sp?) She was put on prevacid and has been on it for a little over a year.
She is doing so much better eating wise and spitting up is very rare. Once in a blue moon it happens at night.
It can happen to a toddler take it from our experience. If u have any clue that reflux is present, u should probably go to a GI dr. We love ours at Schneiders childrens hospital if u need one.
