does anyone have this storm door - I NEED HELP!!
sorry, the first pic is sideways...
does anyone have this door, or something similar? we don't have a book for it... and it came with a screen to put in, but i can't figure out how to remove the glass!
this is a pic from the inside, top left corner, and it has these pieces that go all the way around the door... i think the pieces need to pop out but i can't get it started and don't want to ruin anything...
can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks!

I do!!
and what a pain in the AZZ tp take out the glass
you have to take those pieces out....we use a butter knief to help it out. Just becareful when you take out the last piece that you hold the glass so it doesnt fall. then you put the screen in and put those pieces back in.
I hope I explained it ok.
PS...do the side piece first before the top piece.

Yep big PITA! We leave the glass in all year round.

I have that one...probably an older version. It was the previous owners who put it in...I never saw a screen for it it nor would I be brave enough to attempt that glass

That is a Pella storm door. We had the same one installed last year. See the bottom of page 10 entitled "Glass or Screen Operation" of this document on Pella's website:
Installation instructions for Pella Select Storm Doors (Model 6000)
The document is in PDF format so you need a PDF viewer to open it (Adobe Acrobat)

OMG my parents have that one... it took my dad and DH forever to put the glass in - my dad doesn't even switch out the screen anymore b/c it's such a hassle!

We don't have that exact door, but a similar one...and I agree w/the others, we don't bother putting the screen in during the summer months. It's just not worth the hassle, esp. with the CAC.

lol it seems like a PITA however, the way the sun hits the front of our house, upstairs absolutely ROASTS between the glass door and the front bay window... i figured the cross breeze will help. i think i am getting really desperate bc our AC died on saturday and it's a wall unit meant to do the entire upstairs so we've been dying! a new one is getting installed tomorrow though, so maybe we'll just wait... i dunno lol

I suggest you tough it out, if you take it out you may throw the glass across the portch before all is complete.
