Does anyone here have a Havanese?
We absolutely fell in love with a little tan one today...the guy told us they run about $2k. Does anyone own one? They seem sooo sweet and precious!
And I'm Cuban so it's very fitting to get a Havanese. LOL.

Only issue is DH wants a big dog...and love little froofy dogs! I grew up with Bichons and Pomeranians...I love little dogs. So, we'll see. But this chocolate colored puppy was screaming my name! :)

Havanese are knows as the "tomboys of the toys" because they love to play, wrestle, etc. DH does all that with them and they love it (they are both male though, I am not sure how the females would be). But if a big dog is what you want, I don't think their little 12-15 pound selves would qualify!
I am totally biased but I cannot say enough positive things about Havs.

Thanks, Daniela! I would get boys...definitely. I was trying to entice DH by saying since it's a little Cuban doggie, we could name him Ernie...for Ernest Hemingway, who loved to visit Havana. DH is a huge Hemingway fan, but it was kind of no dice....we'll see. I have a funny way of changing his mind. LOL ;)

I wanted to name them Desi (as in Arnez) because of their Cuban routes but I was denied by DH. I have a feeling you can work on DH. Good luck and regardless of what kind of breed you get, I hope you find a wonderful pet

we are having the same issue- Jake said no "yappy little fur balls" but I love them all- he wants a HUGE dog that could knock me over
I never had a dog before- so I am freaked out about that- I think he agreed to let me get a mini doberman as my first- then he will get his Lab
Havanese dogs are so cute-!!!!!
