Re: Does anyone here know???
do you plan on serving alcohol? i know my mom rented the local KOC hall for my sisters party and they did not serve alcohol so she only had to pay $2pp for soda.

You might not be familiar with the area but Elmont Jewish Center rents a small room (up to 75 ppl) for only $225.00. The only thing is you have to use one of their caterers since they keep kosher but the caterer prices were about $200-300. Also, no liquor is allowed.
It's the cheapest place I've found

Re: Does anyone here know???
The VFW we had my FIL's surprise party let us keep a "tab". We gave $200 at the beginning of the party and if it got to about $10 he would let us know. At that time we could either give more $$ or change it to a cash bar. We had about 60 people and wound up only using $175 of the $200. This was for beer and wine only, and we had to supply soda.

Most firehouses have rooms that they rent.
