Does anyone in your family constantly talk about..

...money? I can't stand it, how much this cost, how much that cost, how much money they spent on blah, how much this person makes...

This one family member of mine is obsessed!! He even goes as far as to tell my DH that he saved over $70,000 so far this year!? Who gives a sh*t!?!?!? Its a close family member so I'm really embarressed by it! What would you do?? Would you say anything to the person?

No we don't do that in our family. The family I work for does and it's obnoxious!

My Dad talks about money too much. Not specifics, but he's very impressed with people who have it.

Yup, got one of those...unfortunately on my side of the family...I constantly tell them to stop it, that its rude etc, but I think its just a personality trait...so I just tune them out...

Yes. The same person either brags about how much he spends or about how stupid it is to spend a lot on certain things.

yep, my il's will talk about money occassionally. my family keeps quiet unless we are asking for something.

DH has a in-law on his side that talks about it every time we see her. She's always asking us how much we paid for this and that or how we can afford it. We never answer her. It's annoying.

No, the people in my family constantly talk about eachother... It's honestly like high school.

Now that I think about it.. people in my family are constantly asking me how much I paid for things. I lie and tell them I bought it in China town cause honestly I don't want to hear it.

OMG, yes my aunt. She is the "oh you like my new bag, just $500." "Oh you like my car, only 35,000" Oh I just bought these shoes, only $100." Everything is money. When we were getting married, she asked me how much each vendor was. And yes she can manage to walk with those melons between her legs.

Yes, I have a cousin who won Lotto and all he does is talk about how much everything cost him, like his 3 houses in the hamptons, the new jaquar, sending the kids to college. So what, you won a ton of money..............stop complaining! If I were in his shoes, I'd be helping out my siblings as well (which he hasn't done, not $.01) which is so sad.

My in-laws do it ALL the time and I cannot stand it! Right now they are house hunting for their first house (they've always been renters) and can't tell anyone about a single place they saw without making sure they share the price tag. Even at my bday dinner - which involved my entire extended family - they went into that b.s. I think it's so inappropriate and IMO, is a sign of insecurity.
