Does anyone know....
How the age at which you first got AF affects your fertility later down the road? I got my first period 2 months after I turned 10, and I was "regular" from the beginning... Just curious!

I don't know the answer to that but it is an interesting thing to research.
I got my period when I was 13 1/2 and was never regular until I went on birth control. In the back of my mind in my late teens/early twenties I knew I would have trouble getting pregnant because of my "irregular" cycles.

Totally random. I got it at 12 and was irregular from the start. I knew I had pcos by the time I was 14.

Does anyone know....
I've researched before, the most I could find (because of course no one has done much research on this because it only affects women) is that because it's thought that the hormones we are eating and various chemicals and pollution are why girls are experiencing puberty earlier, which is thought to be some of the reasons why at this age there are issues... I guess I just have this feeling that because I started a few years earlier I'm also working with a body that is that many years older...

I'm not saying a general blanket reason, I'm just wondering if those of us who started puberty that much younger are at a higher risk of issues... that's all 
And I WISH I had started younger, if I had known how much difference 1 or 2 or 3 years could make, I would have started as we were getting married!

My Mom started her period at 12. She had 5 pregnancies and gave birth to 4 Children
My sister started hers at 15. She had no problem getting pregnant. She has 1 child (by choice)
My friend started hers at 10. She got pregnant twice (No live births - her choice)
I started at 12 and we all know my problem.
I did read somewhere that girls born to women at an older age have a higher risk of IF issues later on. Something about less hormones to pass on to the girl fetus which then translates into IF problems later on in life. Don't know how true it is. But I do remember coming across that somewhere.
My mother had me at 39

It's just so interesting, I'm sure in 10 years we'll see tons of research on this as girls are menstruating earlier and earlier now. Some research shows a link between that and increased weight/body fat (I was a string bean when I got my first AF). My mom was 25 when she had me, no issues at all - both pregnancies (all she wanted) she got preggo within 2 months of deciding to try, she started hers around 13/14.

I started my period late, around 13/14, have always had long/irregular periods (more regular now than ever before) and have gotten pregnant pretty easily 4 times, although 3 of those resulted in MC. Who knows

Does anyone know....
13/14 Is actually NORMAL, I think the "normal" for when we were younger was 12-15 for onset of menses... I got it at 10 (lol barely 10 - we hadn't even watched "the movie" in school yet!). I'm really curious to see the research as it comes out more and more.... It's interesting that generally (and I mean generally) girls are getting AF earlier but starting their families later.... just an interesting set of circumstances...
Has anyone ever seen Children of men?

Does anyone know....
I got mine at 11 and my sister at 13-14ish and we both started our family late.
She did IVF, I did IUIs and was goign to do IVF when I got PG. We both generally had clockwork cycles and no issues along the way.
IMO age you start doesn't matter.

This is completely my opinion and I never looked into research but I almost feel like our bodies are used to getting pregnant at an earlier age. If you think back in time, women got married so much younger and started having kids at a young age (late teens- 18yo, 19yo). I do think that if I wanted to get pregnant when I was 16/17, I would not have had a problem. I started trying at 26yo and I'm turning 29 soon. I KNOW this is not old but I feel like my body just doesn't know how to respond to become pregnant. You also hear stories of people who go through IVF and then get pregnant on their own sometime after- I think that your body almost "wakes up" after successfully going through pregnancy and birth as if to say "oh yeah, I know what needs to be done now!".

My siblings all had zero issues getting pregnant in their 30's. and my mom had me te youngest of 5 at 35
I had issues from day one o getting my period and my body was never normal
I don't think age period wise is a factor
My fb feed is filled with woman in their thirties having baby number one and had no issues and next to them is a 25 yr old doing IVF

I was actually on my way to college thinking "this is awesome that I don't have to bleed for a week each month" when my mom MADE me go to the GYN to bring it on so I would say I was LATE. Once I got it, it was always regular. DH and I had no issues getting pregnant with DS (worked on our 3rd month) and now 2.5 years later of trying we are about to have an IVF consult Monday so clearly we have issues now....

I had endo since puberty and it's genetic bc my grandma had it.
