Does anyone know anything about places to live in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey
My sister is thinking of moving there, but is not sure of where to go. She has young kids, so a nice town with good schools is a must. Thanks!!!

My good friend moved to PA about 10 years ago. She is near the Poconos - Albrightsville. She is looking now in Cresco (near where some new casinos are being built). Many people go to East Stroudsburg - there is a college there ESU.

I lived in Chester County for some years... It is located SW of Phili, and the southern end boarders on Delaware.
West Chester is the county seat, and there is a university there as well (WCU).
It is just off the MAIN LINE, a bit past the King of Prussia Mall.
Im not really sure if that helps, b/c PA is a big state :)

I have family that live in Monmouth county. It is pretty expensive there I think. She is trying for a house in the 200,000 to 300,000 range.

Bergen county is expensive, however some areas in Central jersey tend to be more affordable.......if she is on a tight budget south jersey is much cheaper

Re: Does anyone know anything about places to live in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey
i was born and raised in NJ i grew up in south jersey... in lumberton. ( burlington county). its a GREAT area! there have been a bunch of new developements built in the passsed few years, so there are a lot of young families, and the schools are really good. its near a lot of shopping in cherry hill and marlton, and also only about 20 minutes from philly. really nice area to raise a family in NOW, i live up in north jersey- morris county. its more expensive up in north jersey, though. i live in rockaway right now. its a great town as well. a nice big mall/shopping area right here, and really good schools ( i work in the schools ). its also only about 40 minutes from NYC. other nice towns in the area are denville, randolph, parsippany. i personally like south jersey better-lol- and its more affordable. we live up north because DH has a job up here that he LOVES and really can't do anywhere else. but its not bad up here, either as far as PA- my best friend lives in bloomsburg, and she seems happy there- they have just started building some more stores and stuff, and theres a nice downtown area. bloomsburg university is there, so there are a lot of young people who graduate from there and stay there to start their families. VERY cheap to live in PA, too.
