does anyone know anything about the mazda 3 and low profile tires?

this is dh's 5th tire that popped in the last 1.5 yrs. They keep telling him that this is what occurs with low profile tires. This is ridiculous!

They aren't lying...the problem is that with the low-profile tires every pothole or raised object you hit highly affects the tire. If it's a bad hit, you can dent the rim and that is even more expensive.

My friend had a truck with low-profile tires and it was a running joke about how he should have a full set of 4 spares in his truck, just in case.

Paulette - see about getting a road hazard warranty on the tires. Let me know if you need help with it b/c I can have Ray talk to one of the guys at the STS in Oakdale by you....

I had low profile tires on my Mitsu Eclipse a few years back, and what a problem they were! If you go up the CURB the wrong way, they'd pop. I can't tell you how many tires I went through on that thing... They were SO cool on the car aesthetically speaking, but not worth the trouble in the long run.
