are you talking to a place that only does 3d sonos? I really can't see any OB dr doing it. I'm sure most drs have the techs in their office do it.

I had one last pregnancy with this office and had a great experience. I totally trust the office.

Level II sonograms that most people get (with a prescription) around the 17-20 week mark are done by a technician and a Dr. They are usually not 3D sonograms but a certain office that you go to may turn that part on if their machine to give you a sneak peak.

There are places that you can go to get a 3D to see your baby. They will not take measurements. It just so you can see your little one.

My dr too has the technology in her office, but the tech is the one that does the sonos.

The places that tout 3D and 4D sonos are "for entertainment purposes only". They are not diagnostic measures- so I think thats what your mom meant about not having professionals do them.

As far as I understand, no doctor works at any of those places, just licensed technicians (who are professionals in their field).

In all Dr's office, the technician does the sono, takes the measurments, and give them to the doctor to read. These are the same types of techs who work in the 3D/4D places.

at the 20 week sono, the technician did my sono at first and then asked my doctor to come in and take a look...

If you are talking about the 3D/4D ones that are really just to see the baby then I don't believe that any doctors do them. What did your mother read about these technicians?

We went to Impact Technolgies in East Meadow at 30weeks. It was fine - they don't take any measurements or give you any details of the baby - it's purely for entertainment purposes and to try and see what your baby looks like. I know that tons of girls on here have gotten the 3D/4D ones done and I haven't read about a complaint yet.

My doctor does them in his office...my doctor has always done all the sonograms himself though, no technicians.
