Does anyone know what the sale tax is in CT?
For food, (as opposed to clothing). Thank you!

I don't think there is a tax on food, unless it's a restaurant, and then I know it's less than NY. Maybe 6%?

I'll have to call my cousin and ask. I did look it up and saw it was 6% for food but like you I don't know if that means in a restaurant or foodgoods like purchased at a grocery store. I found out that Babies R Us carries our formula for about $2 cheaper than our local A&P. There's a BRU in Yonkers and in Danbury, both are about the same driving distance but if no tax in CT, it's better to get it there, saves a few dollars at least. You are in Mahopac, right? Or Somers?

We are in Brewster.
A&P is overall more expensive- did you also check out the Shop Rite in Carmel and the Stop and Shop in Danbury? DH and I had a home renovation crisis and stayed in Danbury the other night- I bought some snacks in S&S- no tax.
