Does anyone know where I can get a similar product to Snag It...but free?
Anyone use something similar to Snag It, but that would be freeware?

ALT+PrintScreen (active window) or CTRL+PrintScreen (entire desktop). You can then paste it into Paint, Word, or almost any other Windows program. I've been using this for years, and it's pretty efficient. I can always crop the image after it's in Paint.

that's what I was thinking--- does that program just take screenshots?
I have a Mac - forgive me - but I just press shift+apple+3 for a full screen shot .... shift+apple+4 for a bullseye so you can choose the area you want.

Yes...that's what I normally use, but I just wanted a certain part of the screen and the icon...I just don't want to pay for snag-it

Screen-capture the whole thing, then use Paint (also free in Windows) and crop just the parts you want.
