All I keep hearing in my head is AF-LAC! from those commercials. I'm certain they do it, I would check them out.

The Hartford is the company we use at work. The # is 1-800-303-9744. Maybe they can give you a quote.

Try Guardian I looked into them for disability insurance in case I ever got hurt and couldnt work again. the policy was good, I didnt do it b/c they wanted too much money for my occupation. but its worth a shot since its for materinity leave.

Try calling whoever you use for your homeowners, car and/ or life. You usually get a better rate when you bundle products. Keep in mind though, since you are currently pregnant, they may specifically state that as an exclusion.

Since you are already pregnant it probably won't pay. Most supplemental insurance policies have clauses that state it has to be in effect a min amount of time before hand. At least I know AFLAC does.

Re: Does anyone know where I can get supplemental short/long term disability insurance?
Unem is my short term disability from work, they are good, if they offer that...
ETA- We looked into this before my Uncle Died, and almost all the big companies( except AFLAC) did not sell directly to individuals, you could buy their insurance, but through a broker. You had to find a broker and then pick a company based on rates, offerage etc....And Aflac does not have individual brokers in NY, so they are hard to get individual coverage with, and its only long term coverage they offer to individuals for illness's that do not require long hospital stays or are not cancer related... They do have a completly seperate company called AFLAC NY and offers NY insurance, although the rates are higher, benefits less( I do not know why)
This is Aflacs NY website address
AFLAC NY
When I was PG the first time and used up my jobs disability I couldnt find ANY Company that didint disclose Pregnancy as pre existing, they would offer it for FUTURE PG's...but there was like mentioned a waiting period....
There are some polices if I remember where you could purchase a comprehensive disability package and add a "Rider" to exclude the pre existing pregnany clause..but the Rider cost was outstanding and not worth the coverage, cost more then losing pay.
Good luck, hope some of that helps.

Re: Does anyone know where I can get supplemental short/long term disability insurance?
My BF purchased AFLAC to assist when she's on maternity leave. She had the baby this morning! Next time I talk to her I'll ask her when she purchased it - before or after BFP.
