Does anyone know why on Suffolk cop cars...
it says COPE on the license plate? What does "COPE" mean, exactly. I mean, obviously I know what the word means, but does it stand for something on the cop car?
Just curious  TIA!

I knew it was community something....I checked Wiki
Community Oriented Police Enforcement (COPE)
Each of the seven patrol precincts includes a Community Oriented Police Enforcement (COPE) section, which includes a Mountain Bike Unit.

The COPE units do more community outreach than street patrol. They are the ones that will go to the schools to teach kids or show up at the neighborhood watch meeting.
