Does anyone know why the Level II or anatomy scan...

...takes two hours to go through. I just made an appt and the doctors' office told me to allocate 2 hours for this. I am doing the Level II at another doctor's office that my OBGYN told me to go to.

Honestly - for me it was the wait that took the longest Chat Icon The test itself was about 30-45 minutes for them to get pictures. I think...it's all a blur now.

The scan is about 45 min. I think they are including the 2 hours to be the wait too.

Re: Does anyone know why the Level II or anatomy scan...

Oh no, the wait is usually long for this? They said I have to drink the 24 oz. of water an hour before my appointment and not urinate, and they make me wait forever for the sono to even start, there are going to be issues!!!!! Maybe this is just at busy offices? I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes for any of the previous sonos I've had, could this one be different?

Now I'm worried about the wait!!Chat Icon

Re: Does anyone know why the Level II or anatomy scan...

I think I was with the technician for about 20 minutes, if that. The I saw the doctor afterwards for another 15.

No? They gave me a pre-printed post-it where they fill in your sono time (they gave me the same one for my NT sono).

Did anyone have to drink all the water before the Level II? If not, I'm calling the office to make sure they didn't give me the wrong post-it!!

I didnt have to drink any water beforehand. I waited around 20 minutes or so (and now that I think about it - I used the bathroom while I was waiting) and I was in the room with the technician for around 40 minutes or so.

I had a 3d/4d ultrasound - maybe that's why I didnt have to drink water? I dont know.

Re: Does anyone know why the Level II or anatomy scan...

Did have a little wait in the waiting room, about 30 min. But the test was about 45 min to an hour. They tell you to leave time, incase the baby doesn't cooperate. In my case, the baby was not cooperating for the tech to see all sides of the heart. Also, I had to take a potty break to empty!

Re: Does anyone know why the Level II or anatomy scan...

I just went for mine on Monday & I had to drink 16 oz one hour before the appointment. They took me within 5 minutes of getting there for the appt. & was finished about 50 minutes later.

Re: Does anyone know why the Level II or anatomy scan...

Mine took 2 hours total with the wait and I had to drink a lot of water. I had to pee half way through so she told me to let a little out. I let it all out and had to go again by the time I actually had the sono. I went to dr. Mastro at LI Maternal Fetal Medicine and it's really busy there!

Mine took about 30-45 minutes and I didn't have to drink water beforehand. Actually, when they called me in the sono tech asked if I needed to use the bathroom before she started.

The place i went for my level I and where i go every 3 weeks for the growth scan isnt usually a long wait
