Re: does anyone make food gifts to give?
I Make a big variety of fudge and give to everyone I keep in the back room of my house where it is cool. I start making it about 2 weeks before I start giving it. I might also do breads this year(not sure) which I would make the week of and keep in the same place.
Hope this helps.
ETA: I leave it the pans until I am ready to box up. Fudge gets put in tins or like chinese take out paper thingys and the breads get wrapped in colored plastic wrap with ribbon tied abround in a bow.

Re: does anyone make food gifts to give?
One of my college friends makes incredible fudge. She sends it to all of us wrapped in wax or parchment paper and inside of some kind of Christmas-decorated box. It's always so fun to receive!

Re: does anyone make food gifts to give?
I think I'll be starting this year. I saw an easy recipe on the food network the other day and I want to try it. It was called 3 chocolate bark which consisted of white, dark and milk chocolate combined with nuts. Once dried, you break it up into large chunks. I'll probably cushion them with cellophane and put them in holiday tins. I saw really nice tins at the dollar tree.

Please share your great fudge recipes!!!
I dip pretzels and oreos in chocolate and festive sprinkles. I also make a ton of different x-mas cookies. I'll put the cookies in tins from the $ store and the pretzels or oreos in cellophane bags.

Re: does anyone make food gifts to give?
I love this fudge. My stepmom makes it every year!
Kraft Fantasy Fudge 3 cups sugar
3/4 cup margarine
1 can (5 oz.) evaporated milk
1 pkg. (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate pieces
1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine sugar, margarine and milk in heavy 2 to 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 minutes over medium heat or until candy thermometer reaches 234° F., stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Add marshmallow creme, nuts and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Pour into a greased 13-by-9-inch pan.
Cool at room temperature. Cut into squares.
Makes 3 pounds.

Re: does anyone make food gifts to give?
I make holiday cookies and homemade chocolates to bring to my family and work. I package them in the chocolate boxes you can buy and then wrap them in gift wrap. I just don't store them by any heat.
