Does anyone not really get along with their mother?

Really long story, but on Monday night, my mother said something that wasn't really nice about me to me. I didn't agree with her and not because it is hard to take criticism, but she is just flat out wrong.

I admit, I don't like my sister. I don't agree with the things she has done with her life and as a result, I don't speak to her. I am very generous when it comes to my nephews but i have nothing to say to her.

That being said, my mother called me mean and selfish. I am far from selfish and if I am mean b/c I don't talk to my sister, it is truly b/c I have nothing to say, so I don't say anything.

So, I left my mother's house in a huff yesterday and haven't heard from her since. I called this evening to check on her and she let the machine pick up.

I really feel as if there is nothing my sister can do that would anger or upset my mother. I have accepted that she is the "preferred" child. But to call me mean and selfish, I think that is uncalled for.

I hear ya...my mother and I have been butting heads since the day I was born!
