Does anyone notice that Bare Escentuals makes wrinkles more obvious?

I've been wearing Bare Escentuals for the past year or so, and noticed that my wrinkles are getting much worse (not even 30 yet, so kind of pi&*ed about that). Yesterday I wore no makeup (rarely do that) and my wrinkles were non-existant! It's like the BE fills in the wrinkles and makes them more obvious. Anyone else feel this way? I feel like I need a new makeup. Chat Icon

I don't have wrinkles yet, but my mom wears it. She barely has any but the ones she does have disappear with the makeup. Are you using a moisturizer first? Would that make a difference? Is the powder old? Maybe you just need fresh BE makeup?

I'm not using a moisturizer first..Maybe that would help? It's brand new BE; just got it before the holidays. Weird.

I'm curious about this, too. This is one reason why I haven't tried the minerals makeup yet.

I have some wrinkles due to excessive baking in the tanning salon beds and I do not think BE makes my wrinkles stand out more. I do use a moisterizer though.

If anything, I feel like BE "fills in" your lines a little. My Mom felt the same way about it when she tried it.

I use a moisturizer (Regenerist Night Cream) every day and sometimes I use the Smashbox Primer too.

HTH!

Actually, this is the reason why I stopped using BE under my eyes. My laugh lines were totaly amplified and I thought that it was very drying. I've been much better w/ cream concealers like Shu Uemura

You are probably using too much. You have to shake off excess before applying-also be careful with the mineral veil apply sparingly

That is the reason I don't like BE. My skin gets dry in the winter and it looked really bad on me, like I was covered in powder. I think it better suits people with normal to oily or oily skin.

I have VERY dry skin and I have no problems. After using it for years, I always use a good moisturizer and use very little powder. It's better to shake all the excess or it will look like a "powered cake". Shake the brush of excess powder for a more natural look.

Awe...I was finally gonna try it....but now I am thinking it is not for me cuz I have SUPER dry skin and am really trying to hide all my fine lines...not amplify themChat Icon

Try putting moisturizer on first, that should help.

I love bare escentuals, I don't feel like it amplifies my facial lines at all, whether or not I put on moisturizer that day. I do have combination skin though, more on the oily side.

I would def recommend a skin primer to put on before you put on your bare minerals. The primer fills in all lines and makes the application of the minerals silky smooth. I use the BE skin revver upper and also have used Laura Mercier primer.

I agree. I use the Laura Mercier primer underneath the BE. Looks great and lasts longer.

I love BE in the spring and summer, but once the winter weather comes and my skin is drier I don't like the way it looks on me. I don't even like the way my liquid foundation looks in the winter. I have been using tinted moisturizer with some concealer and power and so far so good.

I have noticed if you apply it too thick, it can look cakey and make your face feel tight. Maybe that is what is going on.

I don't use the moisturizer either. I found their moisturizer that comes with the kit to be greasy. I hated it.

I do use origins moisturizer sometimes before applying the BMin products.

Re: Does anyone notice that Bare Escentuals makes wrinkles more obvious?

The only time I got wrinkles showing was when I used too much. Its not like regualr powder where you kinda puff it on....You have to blend it and really BUFF it into your skin to get the full effect of it.
