Does anyone or their DH have a sleep disorder?

I've known for years that FH has some kind of sleep disorder. He can't wake up in the morning. When he was a teenager his parents just thought he didn't want to, but I can see that he literally can't. He can have 12 alarms going, blaring so you can hear them out in the street, I can come in and scream, shake the bed, etc and he will not wake up. When he does wake up, he feels like he didn't sleep at all, worse actually. He's so not alert. Finally he got a sleep study and he has to repeat it, but he has some form of apnea.

Has anyone had treatments for this?

Is there any alternate way of waking up that you've tried?

I had sleep apnea VERY bad and mine was due to my weight problem. I went for a few sleep studies and was giving a CPAP machine to sleep with. it basically blows air into my airway to keep it open while I slept...allowing me to reach deep sleep and not wake up during the night. After I lost some weight it went away....and no more snoring...which I did and sounded like a bear!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

anyway, Please make sure he gets some treatments for this. its very dangerous and so many people let is go and can die from it!!

He doesn't snore, which is why we never thought of apnea. Also, to my knowledge, he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night. My dad had apena and he would snore and jump up in his sleep gasping for air. FH sleeps like a rock, but the study showed that his blood oxygen levels dropped dramatically as soon as he fell asleep! Chat Icon That's sos cary. I'm also scared ebcause got forbid there's a fire and the smoke alarm goes off or the neighbors bang on his door he won't wake up!

I'm glad your apnea went away! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I know my DH has sleep apnea (my father has it) but he will not go for a sleep study.
