Does anyone see Dr. Klein in Great Neck?
I went to him today and I loved him! I was looking for others to share opinions as this was my first time meeting him. Thanks.

Re: Does anyone see Dr. Klein in Great Neck?
I saw him several times. A lot of people said he's very "arrogant" and you won't like him - I didn't get that impression but I did have other issues with him. I found him to be very knowledgeable - we were TTC at the time and having some difficulties and he was able to pinpoint a hormone in-balance in one of my blood tests and sent me to a RE.
Once we moved on to the RE I followed up with him regarding a test he had run on DH and I had a terrible time getting results on that. His nurse was unable to read blood test results and said I would have to speak to him. After 6 unreturned phone calls I got pizzed and asked to come in and talk to him since he obviously couldn't find the time to return my calls. Saw him, he was very vague and said "you are in the hands of the RE - I'll see you when you are preg!" as though he was all of a sudden too busy to take care of me.
I think his office was/is poorly organized and they are overwhelmed by the # of patients that followed them from the old practice.
I heard that they finally got an in-house radiologist to do sonos stuff is running a bit more smoothly these days but once I became preg I didn't go back. I asked my RE for a recommendation and she recommended Preferred Women's Health - I see Dr Bergman there but there are about 6 dr's in the practice and I have never waited more than 2-3 hrs for a call-back on anything...
Dr Klein is supposed to be one of the best - but a lot of baggage comes with that package. Just sharing my experience...

Re: Does anyone see Dr. Klein in Great Neck?
I had a terrible experience with him and his new office. I broke out into severe hives from a prenatal they gave me and it was on the weekend and when I called, he refused to help me. He said he doesn't do dermatology and/or that it was an "internist" issue. I also tested GBS+ early on but they didn't tell me for two weeks and by that time I had developed a severe UTI. Totally unorganized and unresponsive.
Ended up switching back to the old practice -- Kaufmann, Sadaty, Rifkin etc., which I never should have left!

I've been seeing him for a little over a month (been there 3 times already) and haven't had any problems so far . I like him and have had a good experience with the practice. Way better than my last OB.

Re: Does anyone see Dr. Klein in Great Neck?
He is one of the foremost OBs on the island (possibly in NY) and is fantastic - you are in incredibly capable hands.
Dr. Klein delivered my son (via cesarean) from the old office although he was not my regular GYN. When I got pregnant again this time I went back and forth and ultimately decided to make the switch with him to the new office. I could not be happier that I did. I actually do not find him arrogant in the slightest - I've certainly dealt with far more arrogant physicians in my day. He's brusque when there's nothing wrong. If you've never had the displeasure of having something wrong and him taking his time with you, I suppose it's easy to read this as arrogance. However, it should be read as a vote of confidence that your pregnancy is running incredibly smoothly. The second there is an issue, Dr. Klein's bedside manner is phenomenal.
I really can't recommend him enough; FM if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Re: Does anyone see Dr. Klein in Great Neck?
I decided to stay with the original practice. He was great when I first met him, then refused to answer any of my ques. at my 34 week appt. He said "I'll answer all your questions at your next appt", which wasn't for 2 weeks! How could you tell a preg. woman she has to wait 2 weeks to inquire about certain things going on with her baby/body??
He was gone the next day, said they changed the locks on him in the middle of the night and basically hung up on me and transferred me to his nurse in the middle of one of my questions about me switching practices.
I think he is good at what he does but very scattered and does not deal well with general pregnancy related issues/questions.

Re: Does anyone see Dr. Klein in Great Neck?
Thank to all for sharing your experiences. He came highly recommended and so far with just the one visit has already planned to do more then my last ob/gyn did. He took my concererns seriously and thought this pregnancy should not be taken lightly as my previous doctor did.
A little background I had premature twins at 25weeks. They are both doing great but if I can avoid preterm labor I will do whatever it takes.
Again, thank you for sharing your honest opinions.
