Does anyone take the Grand Central Pkwy to the Jackie Robinson?
I do this commute EVERY day -- leave my house at 6:15 --- and they changed the traffic pattern getting onto the Jackie Robinson -- took it down from 2 merging lanes into just one lane that doesn't merge and now the grand central is backed up soooo far.
It's been so bad that I've been getting off and taking Union Tpke up...
Just wondering if anyone else has been sitting in this parking lot of a commute to work. It is killing me becuse I am used to getting to work so early to get stuff done and it's cutting the time I have for that prep work!

Luckily I would usually get off at 188th St. exit, but now I take the Union Tpke. exit - but I thought it was just the back to school traffic.

I have to go that way to work, but I just take Union Turnpike all the way down. There are lights, but it definitely moves faster.

My DH takes that route every day (he works in East New York). He also leaves at 6:15.

One of my co-workers lives in Patchogue and left his house at 5:25 this morning! It's nuts!

I do and I agree. It is a horror. I am there around 7 am every day and have been for the past 10 years. Since the change in traffic pattern, it is much much worse. Tomorrow, I may get off at 168th street and get on the JRP at Metropolitan Ave. Though Friday traffic is generally lighter in the am.

Coming home it's just as bad. It took me over 15 minutes yesterday just to get onto the Jackie. It STINKS!

My sister always said if Jackie Robinson were alive today, he wouldn't want his name associated with one of the worst parkways in the city - if not THE worst.
I actually had someone tailgating me on a rainy day on those horrible curves on the way home today. Who does that? STUPID!
