i figured & was glad you answered!!
now, what are they waiting for??
i feel such stress...i want to make that deadline; 8k is nothing to sneeze at, even though i shouldn't rush just for that, but still, it's pressure

I think they should just make it a permanent thing for first time homebuyers. It gives people an incentive

No. So far I havent heard talk that it's on the table... All I've heard is that the govt is trying to exit their programs propping up the market (eg they just stopped their MBS purchases a few weeks ago) because they feel they've accomplished their intended goals.

As a first time home buyer, No.
To be honest, 8k isn't going to make me buy a house any faster.

Re: does anyone think they will extend the buyers tax credit for homes?
I spoke to my agent on Friday and she didn't think they were going to extend it, but felt that was the reason why houses were selling over the last few months... so, we shall see what happens!
It's a little extra incentive to help people pull the trigger.

I think it will extend.
The RE market is far from healthy and it still needs a boost.

Re: does anyone think they will extend the buyers tax credit for homes?
I hope it does...
I know you shouldn't buy a home just for the 8k, but I swear, this incentive has me looking at homes NONSTOP.
I spent today from 11 to 4 looking at tons of homes.
I spent Saturday the same way.

Re: does anyone think they will extend the buyers tax credit for homes?
I don't think so but I could see them removing it and then sales sinking, prices dropping and then putting out another type of incentive later in the year.....
