Does anyone use "Store Brand" formula?
I was at Sam's club yesterday and it is literally half the price! The ingredients and nutritional info all seems to be the same. I'm waiting to find out her doctor's opinion....

I tried the BJ's brand of Enfamil LIPIL powder, it had the exct same ingredients and was also significantly cheaper. I found that the consistency was like cornstarch as opposed to fine sand and didn't mix well and clumped up alot in the bottle. DS did fine on it but I opted not to use it again.

We used the brand that costco carries. They had no problems on it - and it was a tremendous savings.

I did. I used Target, mostly. Formula's all have to meet certain gov guidelines. You just don't end up paying for advertising, in the end.

Re: Does anyone use "Store Brand" formula?
I had DS on Similac forever but honestly money is tight and I had to at least try the store brand. I felt guilty but he's doing fine. It does clump a little more but he's very healthy and the pediatrician said that it's not a problem. He's almost 11 months and I never knew what people meant about looking forward to him being a year old. No more formula ($24 a pop - Similac or 13.99 store brand).

Re: Does anyone use "Store Brand" formula?
I have DD on Good Start. The only store brand I have seen was at Kroger's in NC. The ingredients were not the same -- Lactose was the first ing. on Kroger's label; whereas Whey protein was the first ing on Good Start's label so I did not want to switch her. If the ingredients were exactly the same, I would have no trouble switching. Infant formula is one of the most regulated foods on the market and using a "generic" would not bother me at all as long as it was the same as the brand.

Re: Does anyone use "Store Brand" formula?
i recently bought the sam's club brand soy formula because they were out of the similac isomil. the ingredients were essentially the same so i figured i'd give it a try. ds is fine with it. the only difference i notice is that it has more of a yellow color. it is ridiculously inexpensive especially compared to buying in a regular store vs. sam's club. i'm still not sure if i'll buy it again though because i feel like i'm cheating ds out of something. even though i'm sure it's perfectly fine, i just feel that if i'm going to try to cut corners on something, it should be on something other than the nutrients for my baby. i KNOW it has to be the same thing, but it's just my motherly guilt. i may still buy it again.

Do you know (which you probably don't know) in the UK they are not allowed to advertise formula milk! Maybe thats why it is so much cheaper here!
