Does anyone w/ Gest. Diabetes cheat??
I find it so hard to stick to such a strict diet plan pregnant. Anyone cheat every so often?

I had it with my pregnancy, and did cheat every now & then....usually right after I had to show my doctor the #'s for the week!

lol it is hard to stay so strict especially when you are sooo hungry....or have a craving...when my #s are over 140 - b/c I am testing 1 hour after eating, they are usually over between 140-160 which they had said was not that bad ..they alluded that since it was not over 200 it was ok..but again I am usually w/in the range and only over range a few times a week...I call in my #s 2morrow...we shall see....thanks.

Why are they having you test an hour after eating?

They have me test fasting, and then 1 hour after eating Breakfast , lunch and dinner..to check my levels.

Are they expecting you to be 120 or under in as little as an hour after eating?
Isn't it "standard" to test fasting & 2 hours after eating?
I'm just curious. I just found out on Friday & my doctors gave me a list & I have to test fasting & 2 hours after eating - similar to this: http://diabetes.webmd.com/guide/gestational_diabetes?page=2
I haven't seen the dietician yet - I have an appt on Friday to see her. I was wondering if she'll give different instructions, etc.
Any help is appreciated.
