Does anyones DC not watch TV??
My DD does not watch TV which in a way is ok I guess but I think that she should watch something right?? I mean she watches the Backyardigans and Olivia (her namelol) but really once the opening songs are over and she is done dancing she can care less about the TV.
Is it really a big deal right now?? She is 1.

So funny you posted this b/c I have been asking people the same question. My DS just turned 1 and he has absolutely no interest in TV. My friend's DD is the same age and was obsessed with Baby Einstein at 3 months. My DS is just not into it - when I want to clean the house, I try to turn the tv on and get him to watch, but he will turn away.

Lily had no interest in tv (other than the IO digital cable commercials) until she was about 18 or 19 months old.
I would turn it on, she would glance at it and then move on to play with something else.
Now, she can watch for about 15 minutes at a time, and then she loses interest.

DS is 19 months old and only just started watching Elmo here and there. I am very anti-tv so this was with reluctance. In small doses it is OK.

If they aren't interested I would turn it off. I wish my kids didn't love TV as much as they do.
The AAP recommends no TV till they are 2 anyway

DS #1 is a few months over 3 and really just started watching tv. I am not a big tv watcher, actually maybe watch a half hour the entire week if that. He used to watch Baby Einstein when he was little but that was it.

I noticed around 3 months he started getting interested in the TV. So I started to make sure I put shows on that would be appropriate for him. About 2 weeks later I decided he wasn't old enough for tv and stopped putting it on when he was up.
Now at 8 months he has zero interest in it.

DD doesn't watch either. It's recommended that children under two watch no TV at all so I'm fine with it. I would like do be able to use DVDs to keep her entertained on long trips, so I am hoping that after 2 she is interested a little.

We never let DD watch TV under 1, not even for 5 min. around 14 mo or so we started letting her watch a little bit maybe 15 min a day or so. now at almost 18 mo she is allowed to watch up to 1hr a day. I will let her watch it little bit more when she is 2. but I will never let her watch more than maybe up to 2 hours a day for a while.
